Kochi Prefectural Forestry College signs an agreement with the Graduate School of Engineering
The Faculty of Engineering, OCU Graduate School of Engineering, and the Kochi Prefectural Forestry College sealed their fruitful collaboration in various activities related to education, research, and social contribution with a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed on Tuesday, 7 December 2021 at the Tanaka Memorial Hall at the Sugimoto Campus.
After the signing ceremony, a lecture titled "The future of wood and architecture" was delivered by the President of Kochi Prefectural Forestry College, and a world-famous archiect, Kengo Kuma. Students studying architecture mainly at the OCU Graduate School and Faculty of Engineering participated in person and online. In the lecture, President Kuma showed photographs of buildings he worked on in Yusuhara Town, Kochi Prefecture and around the world.
To promote future developments, Kochi Prefectural Forestry College and the Graduate School of Engineering will make effective use of the knowledge, experience, education and research environment of both institutions. Future collaborations will include forestry, wood studies, education and research related to wooden construction, and community development practices.
